Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I can’t recommend Eagle Transmission enough! I got stranded in Austin while driving my Jeep home after it had been repaired at another shop in South Texas. Thankfully, I found Eagle Transmission, and they took great care of me. The staff was incredibly helpful, professional, and honest. They diagnosed the problem quickly, made the necessary repairs, and got my Jeep back on the road much faster than I expected. Their customer service was outstanding, and they made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. If you’re looking for a trustworthy shop with fast, quality service, I highly recommend Eagle Transmission. Thank you again for getting me back on the road!

The team at Eagle Transmission North & automotive worked efficiently to fix our vehicle in a timely manner. West was sure to call and explain the work that was needed and the estimate at each step of the way. We appreciated that West advised that we could buy a part to reduce the cost. Their work is warranted and gives us peace of mind. The car is running smoothly. Thank you!

I had a great experience working with Eagle getting our transmission rebuilt. They were able to identify a few other issues we weren’t aware of and were able to complete all of the work in about 10 days at a competitive price. I will definitely be taking my truck back to Eagle for repairs and maintenance going forward.

I love this shop for its honesty first and foremost. Scott told me up front my car is old and not to invest a lot of money in it the first time . I was only charged the diagnostic fee. I couple weeks later my car just had another issue. I took it back , I thought it was a quick, easy fix but it turned into something else, still Scott told me it’s time to let it go. I promised him I will not be back with that car. Please put your vehicle and trust in this shop because you get the most honest and trustworthy, professional team. Thank you so very much. I promise to send everyone that ask me for a reasonable shop your way. Thanks again, it really felt good not to feel your being taken advantage of.

As a girl in her 20s from a different state, the search for a mechanic has been so tiring and I’m so glad it’s come to an END! I found eagle transmission through Google search and I had seen all their lovely reviews and all the reviews proves correct. They are first come, first serve, so I would recommend going early in the morning so you can have your vehicle done within a day or two depending on what the issue is. Scott and his team have been so communicative and it was so easy to see what I was paying for and they either offer financing to pay for it. I HIGHLY Recommend this job to anybody in the Austin area or if you’re coming from a different state and need a new mechanic they’re perfect!!
